Each featuring an integrated all-analog, high-impedance JFET preamp, the microphones are capable of adding an additional 26dBs of clean analog gain to your signal with Phantom Power. As a true bypass active circuit, this additional gain stage allows you to preserve the integrity of the passive ribbon mic circuit. The Fen-tone has a figure-eight polar pattern and pencil-style design with ventilated sides for recording everything directly in front of and behind the mic, ideal for capturing the energy of the room in tandem with the sound source itself. The Fen-tone was tailor-made for capturing tight low-end and rich midrange with a frequency response of 30Hz to 15kHz for delivering powerful lows, and forgiving highs. It excels on loud sound sources like drum overheads and room recording, boasting a whopping max SPL of 148dB, and an output impedance of 300 Ohms when passive, and 150 Ohms when active.
