Tesseract Modular Step Fader

Step Fader is a dual sequencer from Tesseract Modular with multiple modes that act independently or in tandem for many sequencing possibilities. It functions in three modes, dual with two independent eight-step sequencers; parallel, one eight-step sequencer with two rows of CV; and single, one 16 step sequencer. These step lengths indicate the maximum number of steps of each sequencer, using a gate signal at the reset input resets the sequencer back to the first stage, or reverses direction in pendulum mode. Select between normal, reverse, pendulum, or random play modes with the buttons or gate signals.

Each channel features eight faders to set CV levels, plus a final macro fader that controls the overall range of the sequencer. The steps feature a switch to select gate behavior, sending the step's gate to one of two outputs, or muting the gate output. Built-in slew generators add glide to your sequences with adjustable time. The rotary switch selects which step of the second sequencer channel outputs a signal. Route this signal either to the second channel to change the step length or get step offset control for the first sequencer, In addition to the primary outputs, a sum output combines the two sequencer lanes and the gate lines. Use this for the 16 step mode, or get interesting results from either of the dual modes. Control the step repetition of the first sequencer with external CV signals or use the second sequencer pre-fader. The design is deceptively simple, but you'll soon find there's a great deal of power under the hood of this module.
