Steinberg UR816C

The Steinberg UR816C is a rack-mount USB audio interface that brings top of the line audio quality with extensive connectivity for a stellar recording experience. It records at 32-bit/192kHz audio quality, allowing for incredible detail and clarity from your sounds. The lightning fast Superspeed USB 3.1 connection allows for fast and reliable data transfer with low latency, and is even backwards compatible with USB 2.0.

This interface features eight channels of XLR/TRS combination inputs with class-A D-PRE mic preamps. Up to eight additional channels can be connected using the optical connector, which is switchable between ADAT and S/PDIF formats. Two UR186Cs can be connected together using the optical connector to expand their overall functionality and available channels using the HA mode.

The Loopback function merges incoming audio with the signal coming from the audio device and then sends it to a streaming software of choice. The UR816C is a perfect choice for streaming large groups such as a panel discussion, or even for live streaming a concert.

The UR816 features a number of additional niceties for tying your studio together and keeping overall performance rock solid. You can integrate your DAW and external MIDI synths with the built-in MIDI input and output. The UR816C also helps to reduce audio jitter by using SSPLL jitter reduction technology. Word clock BNC connectors are available on the back, and help keep everything in your studio working together in time. The integrated DSP effects include reverb, amp modeling, EQ and compression and work latency free to help optimize your workflow. It also includes a bundle of software with Cubase AI, Cubasis LE, and dspMixFx.
