Noise Engineering Seca Ruina
Noise Engineering's Distortion of the Month endeavor continues with the Seca Ruina: a multiband distortion designed to cut a sound into pieces and annihilate them independently. Seca Ruina divides incoming sounds into three frequency bands (low, mid, and high) and provides independent drive controls for each band, allowing variable amounts of distortion across the entire frequency range.
Unlike many distortion effects, Seca Ruina provides a surprising number of ways to animate its response. Each frequency band offers a direct CV input for the drive amount: try plugging in a quadrature LFO, or multiple random voltages, or multiple sequences and an enormous range of variable tones emerge. A master CV input is also available, affecting each band simultaneously. Additionally, each band has a direct audio output, allowing for further processing outside the module itself. As such, it can be used as a general-purpose multiband crossover when not absolutely obliterating its input.
Seca Ruina also features a summed output with a dedicated VCA, allowing for dynamics control right at the module itself.
No doubt one of the most interesting Eurorack distortions around, Seca Ruina is ready to slice and destroy.
