While effects pedals often focus on what happens before a recording channel strip, the Colour Box gives you a compact console preamp and EQ to put anywhere in your signal chain. Fantastic as a pre-effects tone shaper, the Colour Box's powerful stepped gain control and flexible EQ section lets you tailor your tone like a studio engineer. Open up new sounds in older effects with its gain staging and EQ, use it as a premium DI, or even incorporate Colour Box into your mastering chain.

At the top of Colour Box is its gain section, providing you controls for master output volume and preamp gain for additional saturation. A stepped gain control from 18dB to +39dB colors your tones with a wide range of rich analog saturation from pristine clean to rumble and crunch. The Hi/Lo switch selects a headroom amount, with cleaner tones in Lo mode and overdrive in Hi mode.

Sculpt these added harmonics with Colour Box's competent EQ section, featuring three bands of control each with a shift knob to set the target frequency. An additional Hi Pass filter is onboard to cut out low end boominess.
