Intellijel Designs Multigrain
Multigrain from Intellijel is a stereo granular sampler with deep creative flexibility, ideal for sound designers and modular experimentalists alike. Load up to eight stereo WAV files—each up to thirty-two seconds long—via the included 32GB microSD card or record directly into the module itself. Once loaded, each sample becomes a sound source to be broken apart, scattered, and rebuilt using a sophisticated granular engine. With two fully independent Scenes per sample and a Morph control to glide between them, you can shape and mutate textures in real time—either by hand or through external CV. Add in Blur, a lush stereo reverb designed in-house, and what you get isn't just playback—it's atmospheric reconstruction.
Beneath its polished interface lies a modulation powerhouse. Multigrain's three assignable CV inputs, internal random modulation, and attenuverters on every modulation path make it easy to animate your grains, modulate pitch, filter, or density, and create constantly shifting microtextures synced to your system clock. Use the Next, Select, and Gate CV inputs to navigate through sounds, blend textures, and stack samples together for layered complexity. There's a full suite of granular parameters on board—thirteen in total—plus real-time pitch quantization, clock sync, and the ability to latch or fire grains percussively, making it equally suited for ambient washes or rhythmic cut-ups.
And for those looking for inspiration out of the box, Multigrain delivers. A curated collection of artist-made Projects—featuring exclusive content from Richard Devine, Speedy J, Taylor Deupree, and Jeremy Blake—comes preloaded on the SD card. With support for up to forty-eight Projects, each with forty-eight Presets, and robust resampling and recording capabilities, Multigrain offers a complete microsound workstation in just 20HP. Whether you're slicing up field recordings, building glitchy percussion, or sculpting granular drones, Multigrain is a flexible and inspiring tool for reshaping sound into something entirely your own.

About Multigrain:
Multigrain is an Eight Channel Stereo Morphing Granular Sampler. Layer grains and sequence from the eight available Sounds—each one loaded from your large microSD sample library (WAV files), or recorded directly on the module. Each of the eight Sound Buttons plays grains generated from its own sample, and its own pair of Scenes—two completely different sets of granular parameters; a dedicated Morphing Fader and CV allow you to smoothly morph between these two Scenes. Dedicated Select, Next and Gate CV inputs allow you to sequence the playback of all eight Sounds.
Assignable X/Y/Z CV as well as an internal Random S&H generator, can be applied to any and all granular parameters at once. Assignable MOD A/B Outputs let you modulate other modules in time with Multigrain.
Projects and Presets allow you to save, load and organize different sets of samples and settings. 48kHz 24-bit Stereo I/O and 32-bit floating point internal processing for Hi-Fi output. Multigrain comes pre-loaded with Sound Packs from Richard Devine, Taylor Deupree, Speedy J (STOOR), Red Means Recording and our very own team at Intellijel.
