Genelec 8030C
The 8030C is the bigger sibling to Genelec's benchmark 8010 and 8020 reference monitors, with deeper bass, higher SPL and a wider frequency response for even more detailed reference mixing. It carries all the pedigree of Genelec's other monitors, at arguably the most versatile size. Standing at 11.75" tall, with a speaker measuring in at 7.4", it's perfect for most medium-to-large sized room.
Genelec's referance monitors are known for their unforgiving truthfulness when it comes to their frequency response, and the 8030C is no exception. While it may be almost unflatteringly flat, this is a crucial element for acheiving mixes that sound amazing on the most amount of systems. It features a number of Tone Controls for augmenting bass and treble frequencies to perfectly match whatever space you're mixing in. The Desktop 160 Hz mode is specifically for attenuating said frequencies, which tend to build up when a speaker is placed on a flat, reflective surface such as a table or desk. The Treble Tilt mode smooths out frequencies above 4kHz by -2dB, while the Bass Tilt has multiple modes of attenuations: -2db, -4dB, or -6dB when both are engaged. Additionally, the Bass Roll-Off mode introduces a smooth -4dB filter into your signal, "rolling off" the lowest-of-low sub frequencies that can accumulate easily in untreated rooms.
The 8030C also features Genelec's ISS (Intelligent Signal Sensing) power saving mode, which puts the monitor into a standby state— consuming only 0.5 watts— until it detects an incoming signal, at which point it will automatically switch into its normal operating mode. This process takes place in a matter of seconds, making this a great way to simultaniously save power, and never have to flip your monitors on again. If you're looking to get serious about your mixes, look no further than one of the industry's most trusted referance monitors with the 8030C from Genelec.
