Mainframe specializes in sample rate and bit reduction, ranging from 48kHz to 110Hz and 24-bits down to 1-bit, respectively. At their most aggressive settings, the resulting sounds degrade and distort the incoming audio beyond recognition, but more subtle settings behave much like other drive and distortion pedals, and Mainframe will likely stack well with your favorite pedals. Sounds can be shaped further with a built-in filter, with selectable modes for lowpass, highpass, and bandpass operation to roll-off or even enhance harsh artifacts.
