Each Ciat-Lonbarde instrument features a unique wood grain, no two are identical!

Ciat-Lonbarde Clicker

Clicker from Ciat-Lonbarde is a compact, semi-modular instrument focused on creating short impulses of sound which can excite acoustic spaces to make evident their harmonic qualities. Clicker features a dual-voice architecture with two flexible trigger inputs, as well as two trigger buttons, two swooping AD envelope generators, and two crossmodulated ring modulators called "ringlers", invoking inspirations from the designs of Rob Hordijk. Additionally, a music mode switch can be used to focus Clicker on its original application in Click mode, or produce more conventionally melodic phrases in Music mode.

With variable envelope shapes, Clicker excels at generating bursts of complex sound that has been described as "an orchestra in a microsecond". By quickly modulating an impulse signal, which is further processed through the cross modulating ringlers to produce sum and difference tones, Clicker dynamically unfolds spectral content in an instant. Clicker can be used with other Ciat-Lonbarde instruments, Eurorack systems, standard analog triggers, or even feeding back to trigger itself, offering plentiful space to explore its interwoven operations. With its unique sound signature, Clicker from Ciat-Lonbarde can provide all manner of sonic pathways through which to wander, all the while exciting ambient waves with explosive utterances, beckoning for musical response.

Orchestra In A Microsecond: Ciat-Lonbarde Clicker
Jan St.Werner of Mouse on Mars and Peter Blasser of Ciat-Lonbarde worked together on a very unusual synthesizer. Rather than creating lush textures, it is meant to excite and play acoustic spaces. Clicker compresses and expands a rich spectrum derived from "Ringlers", a new take on Rob Hordijks "Rungler". Originally made for an exhibition it is now a standalone instrument. The whole concept intrigued me deeply, and as a fan of both their work I invited both of them to my studio for a chat. If found the resulting conversation so interesting I decided not to edit it down too much, only taking out the odd interruption. So strap in for an hour of deep synth, music and art nerdery.
