Black Lion Audio has teamed up with Shure to revive the Level-Loc: a legacy Shure product originally designed for hands-off signal level control that became a secret ingredient for slamming compression and saturation. Easy to operate, the most basic usage of the Shure Level-Loc is by simply setting the Input Level gain and "Distance Selector"—a fun name for the unit's internal compressor threshold. As intended, this is a handy way to save your take from clipping when your singer belts those high notes. But compression as coloration fanatics love the Level-Loc for its aggressive shaping of signals, particularly drum busses and other sounds rich with dynamics, transients, and complex spectral content.

With the blessing and collaboration of Shure's engineering team, Black Lion Audio have taken a few liberties to update the Level-Loc with modern accoutrements. Easily enjoy parallel compression chains with the onboard Mix control, and find versatility with selectable Fast/Slow compression release times. Plug in more sources and destinations with combo jack inputs and a new 1/4" TRS output, and get your favorite condenser microphone in on the fun thanks to the newly-added Phantom Power and 50dB pad.
