Behringer brings back the classic bass synthesizer back with the TD-3, with all the squelchy acid sounds that graced so many raves. This is a true-to-form analog design with an onboard sequencer and distinctive filter. The oscillator is a classic pulse and sawtooth VCO with adjustable tuning. These bass synthesizers are known for their filters, a characterful diode ladder filter that provides an often emulated sound. Additional harmonic interest can be added to the sound of the TD-3 from the included distortion circuit with a switch to turn it on or off.

The sequencer is a 16-step sequencer with seven tracks that can be saved as a pattern. Up to 250 patterns can be saved and recalled for your convenience. The timing and pitch information for the sequences is entered separately, which often leads to rhythmically and melodically complex sequences. Patterns can also be randomly generated, bringing often surprising and dynamic variation to your sequences. Additionally, you can control the TD-3 from external MIDI devices using the DIN-MIDI and USB connection on the rear of the unit. The 3.5mm connections on the top let you bring in external audio into the filter, sync to external clock sources, as well as sending out CV and gate signals.
