Released on his 32nd birthday and three days before his death, J Dilla's Donuts is the second and last album released during his lifetime. Composed in a hospital bed, Donuts' samples and melodies tell the story of a man coming to terms with his declining health and a final love letter to the friends and family he was leaving.
